Obituary of John David Stamper
John David Stamper was born on March 29, 1967 in Columbus, Ohio to the union of Darrell and Linda (Tarbert) Stamper. He graduated from Jefferson High School with the Class of 1986 and subsequently attended classes at Owens Community College. John was employed as a hi-lo driver and laborer for Faurecia auto parts manufacturing company. He attended First Christian Baptist Church in Newport, Michigan.
John was a member of the Findlater Masonic Lodge #475 in Trenton, Michigan. He often rode his motorcycle in rallies with the Masons to raise funds for various charities, including Wigs for Kids. John was an avid collector of many items. He had a large assortment of coins he had procured from around the Globe, including very old and rare coins. John was also proud of his expansive collection of guns. He enjoyed fishing on the Great Lakes and hunting both deer and smaller game. John especially loved to visit the peaceful and beautiful surroundings of his family cabin in Northern Michigan.
John David Stamper, age 53, of Monroe, Michigan passed away at Beaumont Trenton Hospital on Monday, December 7, 2020.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his parents: Darrell and Linda Stamper, son: Josh Stamper, and daughter: Jessie Stamper.
Family and friends may gather on Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Merkle Funeral Service North Monroe, 2442 N. Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Masonic Funeral Rites and a Celebration of his Life officiated by Pastor Cliff Ervin will begin at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the State of Michigan’s mandates, guests will be limited in number, face coverings will be required, and no food or beverages will be permitted inside the building.
