Obituary of David Pfeiffer

David William Pfeiffer was born on September 30, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William and Anita (Wilke) Pfeiffer. He attended Jefferson Schools in Monroe, Michigan. Dave married the love of his life, Lynda Amazeen on August 4, 1972 in Monroe. From this union came the birth of three children. Dave retired from Ford Motor Company's Woodhaven Stamping Plant after 32 years of employment. He was a member of the UAW Local 387 and also worked maintenance at the fairgrounds for years. Dave had a passion for the Monroe County Fair serving 2 terms on the board. He was involved with building the baseball diamonds at the fairgrounds which gave him a great sense of pride to pass on his love of the sport to future generations. Dave and his wife Lynda were youth baseball and softball coaches for 25 years. Dave idolized his grandchildren which was evident by how much he spoiled them. He especially enjoyed sharing his favorite treat with them, M &M's. Dave looked forward to the time in his day when he could take a nap. He also had a knack for keeping things lively with his great sense of humor and known for his one-liners and being a jokester. Dave was a jack of all trades but a master of none. He could build or fix anything. Dave was especially skilled at home improvements and maintenance. David William Pfeiffer, age 63 of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Carol Ray. To cherish his memory, Dave leaves his beloved wife of 41 years: Lynda; three sons: Brian and Jennifer of Monroe, Randy and Roxanne of Ida and Eric and Lori of Dundee; two sisters: Joann (Terry) O'Brien of Fredericktown, Ohio and Lori Watrous of Las Vegas, Nevada; nine grandchildren: Micheala, Regan, Caleb, Joshua, Trent, Caden, Blake, Grant and Harley. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe 2442 North Monroe Street. (734) 384-5185.
