Obituary of Marietta Elenah Harris
Marietta Elenah Jacobs was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 26, 1977. She was born from the union of James and Rafaela (Robledo) Jacobs. Marietta was raised in a large family growing up in a home with five other siblings.
She would call Hawaii home for several years but would make her way back to Monroe to be close to family. Marietta was blessed with a beautiful voice. It had been stated that she had the voice of an Angel and she could regularly be heard praising her Lord by singing Christian music or Gospel songs at any given time. Marietta was also a gifted poet; she understood and appreciated the little things in life. She often would turn her poems into lyrics for songs to share with others, much to the listeners delight. From time to time, she even choreographed dancing into her presentation much to the joy and entertainment of her family.
Marietta enjoyed baking, she would frequently experiment, and she remarkably had a great talent for turning something “nasty” into something tasting amazingly delicious. Baking wasn’t her only forte’ in the kitchen. She could whip up a batch of her famous spaghetti or her phenomenal walking tacos for her dinner guests to savor. Marietta was proud of her home and keeping it tidy was very important to her, but she was always very gracious to share the fun of cleaning and would frequently recruit others to participate with the festivities.
Marietta Elenah Harris, age 42, of Monroe passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at her home. She had been in declining health for some time.
