Obituary of Alice Eloise Yoas
Alice Eloise Jacobs was born on December 1, 1942 in her parents’ home in Algonac, Michigan, to the late Ernest Ashton and the late Marion Phoebe (Baker) Jacobs.
Alice married the love of her life, Lowell E. Yoas and together they would raise three children. Family was most important to Alice. Being a proud stay at home mom, Alice loved being available around the clock to care and cook for her children.
Having artistic talents, Alice would like to express herself in many ways. At one time she enjoyed creating dolls using empty plastic soap bottles and sew individual outfits for the dolls. As she and Lowell closed in on retirement age, Alice became very good at painting nature and various holiday scenes. She also enjoyed spending time teaching her grandchildren how to paint and do other arts and crafts projects.
Frequently, Alice would pair up with her husband to play a friendly game of Euchre versus her sister, Mary Jane and her brother in law, Ivan.
Alice enjoyed spending her quiet time reading a good book, such as romance or mystery novels. She would read about a dozen books weekly from the library. Alice also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Alice was a long-time member of the Frenchtown Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary.
