Obituary of Matthew Lozano

Matthew Lozano was born in Monroe, Michigan on November 3, 1962.  He passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.   Matthew will be sadly missed.  He is survived by his beloved wife:  Connie Lynn (Moore) Lozano; his parents Richard Lozano of Houston, Texas and Cecilia B. Lozano of Erie; his four brothers:  Benito (Sarah) of Toledo, Larry of Erie, Mike of Monroe, Rich (Sonja) Lozano of Monroe; his two sisters:  Christine Martinez  of Monroe and Lisa (Victor) Dellagarza of Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nephews as well as a niece – all of whom were loved by him.  He was preceded in death by a sister:  Peggy Lee Lozano.

Matthew attended Mason Consolidated High School in Erie, Michigan and worked all of his life in the construction and building trades, including spending more than twenty years employed by Bour-Del Construction.   He would take a medical retirement in 2013.

He was blessed to marry the love of his life, Connie Lynn (Moore) Lozano in Monroe on October 23, 1993 and they most recently made their home in Newport, Michigan, with Matt’s beloved and prized four-legged companions:  Charlie and Bella.  His hobbies were fishing, hunting, repair and building projects, Westerns, and all kinds of music.  Matthew loved his family and friends and sitting outside, enjoying bonfires, and entertaining all who came to his home.

Due to social gathering restrictions, private services were held at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185.   A public celebration of his life and trust in Jesus Christ is being planned for a future date at the Church of the Lord Our Righteousness in Monroe, Michigan.
