Gary "Lumpy" Lee Chamlee was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan on October 21, 1970. He was one of two born from the union of Jerry Chamlee and Helen (Wilson) Chamlee. Lumpy graduated from Harry S. Truman High School in the year of 1989. Lumpy supported himself as a professional Truck Driver for OBX. He was known for his love of motorcycles and was the President of the Street Royalty Motorcycle Club, Monroe Chapter. Lumpy started recently attending Metro South Church and volunteered his services in various construction projects. He had a big heart and was very forgiving. Lumpy had a big heart, was everyone's friend and loved his family very much. He did everything with his brother, Jerry "Shaggy"- kayaking, hunting, mountain climbing, repelling, horseback riding, photography, and archery. Lumpy passed away in Jerry's arms and was able to say one last "Goodbye" to him. Gary "Lumpy" Lee Chamlee, age 42 of Monroe unexpectedly passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was preceded by his paternal grandparents: Loyd and Hazel Chamlee; his maternal grandmother: Helen Georgett; and an aunt: Rose Chojnowski. To cherish his memory, in addtions to his parents he leaves a step son: Tony Hernandez; a brother: Jerry (Lori) Chamlee of Carleton; an aunt: Mary (Bruce) Flisnik of Oklahoma; and an uncle: Joseph Chojnowski of Rockwood. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:00am also at Merkle's. Pastor Greg Cahalan from Metro South Church will be officiating. Procession will follow to Oak Ridge Cemetery for burial, where veteran's honors will be held under the auspices of the Wyandotte Honor Guard.
