To The Family of Jim:
My Wife and I are sad to hear about Jim. He was always a GREAT person and NICE Guy
along with his wife, Renata. I knew Jim and his family, including his dad and his
uncle. I was with The Blade for many years and had the pleasure of helping them
advertising in The Blade. He will be missed. Our prayers are with all of you.
Our Deepest Sympathy

My dearest Shea family,
I'm sure there is a rule against drinking and posting a condolence, but that's when the feels hit so I'm going to go with it. First, I'm so proud of the family you are. The four of you are part of Gods greatest gift to me. Growing up Jim was always a great role model for life, very free and happy and hard working. The Shea family lives in my long term memory bank because they were our neighbors growing up and Trisha was AND IS currently my very best friend. I remember Jim as the fun dad, the dad that said yes (potentially because he wasn't listening or perhaps because he was drinking margaritas). He drove us places, didn't ask a ton of questions, and trusted us as "good kids"(pretty crazy, I know). Jim always kissed Renate when he came home from work, he called her Schatzi. He loved her and it showed. They ate dinner really late (I'm only adding this because as I kid I thought I would starve if I had to wait until 8:00 pm to eat). Jim was a nice dad, a good guy and funny (SO FUNNY). He was mostly easy going except for this one time; we went to the grocery store and he "lost" Trisha and I. This was before the era of cell phones. Keep in mind that Trisha and I never left the store but he went on a hunt to find us (he left the store and came back). Upon finding us he grounded both of us! Trisha tried to come to my rescue and tell her dad that he didn't have the authority to ground her friends. Needless to say we washed his car and the deal was off. Jim cared about his girls as children and as adults. His love was and IS unconditional. I know that without a doubt he is singing with the angels. Rest easy Jim. You will be missed by many including me. -Laura Tuttle

A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum
Michael Gordon. conducting orchestra...
The big number between Pseudolus and Hero.
Lots and lots of words in this song....
Hero is played by our son Jeffry, his very first big role at just 14 years old! Jeffry who up until (and always after!, much preferred to be behind the scenes, in the light booth specifically with Kevin.) . Poor Jeff!
Music Starts for the song...
Jim/Pseudolus: (can’t remember ANY OF THE WORDS EXCEPT FREEE!!!) ... “you wanna be free and I wanna be free and everyone wants to be free!! ... and and we all are free and ......” (this continues with all sorts of made up phrasing ...)”and we are running free...”
Michael conducting the orchestra trying so hard to keep up with Jim...what is he doing?!?
Then Jim LOSES THE MEOLDY AND TEMPO!! The The Song that once existed is gone and no one, including Jim knows where it is going! Or better WHEN WILL THIS END?!?
Michael is forced to just stop conducting and the orchestra just watches in awe. We are all wondering how is he going to get out of this one?!?
But Jim!!?!? Pseudolus!?! He is going strong, his mind is racing but he held on to that character until finally!! THE BIG FINISH!!!
Pseudolus throws the line to Hero ...who should respond with a broad and bold “FREEEEEEEE!!!!”
Hero/Jeffry, who had been standing downstage right this whole time just staring at Pseudolus with a complete look of terror, takes a beat, looks at Pseudolus, looks down at conductor Michael, then weakly, with great trepidation and full of questions, responds “free?”
The orchestra slams out the final chords and the torture was over!!
Oh we couldn’t even contain it!! Cast, crew orchestra!! Everyone falling apart!
The best scene that could never be duplicated, but would be talked about forever, Was finally over!
Poor Jeff.
I know in my heart of hearts, as I am sure you all do too, that My Hero and this fabulous larger than life, Pseudolus have done this scene a few dozen times since Jim arrived in Heaven and they were perfect.

Shea family,
I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. My ex (Tom Pawloski) and I knew him since Tom worked for Shea furniture back in the day and the Toledo Turner days. What a blast we all had then! Bless you all and may hugs help you during your hard times ahead.
