I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing. It it hard to believe that it has been almost 50 years since we were neighbors on Harris St. I am thinking of all of you in this difficult time. God bless you all. Go Green.

Dave Carney posted a condolence

The entire Carney family, Nashville branch, extends our warmest sympathies to the Norman family. Jim was a special person with a huge heart and a fighting spirit. Often, Jim and Sandy would stop in Nashville while travelling to, or from, Florida and the memories of those visits still makes me smile. More than once, their visit coincided with one of Kevin's track meets and they would happily join us. Trust me, high school track meets are not a lot of fun if you don't have a child out there running around or jumping over things. Jim and Sandy joined us every time and were enthusiastic fans- probably hoping that Kevin would go to MSU instead of the Univ of Tennessee. The telephone calls that happened the day of an MSU-Notre Dame football game gave Jim the opportunity to showcase his wonderful sense of humor- those calls will be missed.
Not being able to be part of Jim's memorial service hurts my heart but a business commitment that just can't be broken is going to keep me away. I will be there in spirit and will celebrate his great life.
