Dear sweet Mary. Thank you for your vibrant, loving, kick-ass presence in my life. You showed me so much about life. I love you and I'm sure you know that the time I spent with you was the happiest in my life. Thanks for all the dancing, concerts, and showing me that loving my animals too much was just fine and not crazy. You knew how to get what you wanted out of life and how to make people feel appreciated. You made me feel appreciated Mary. I know you're up there dancing with Jesus and your outfit is awesome. (Just like aunt H showed you.) Drood and Elwood send their love and slobber. Forever friends. XOXO.

Dearest Mary, it is with an aching heart and flowing tears that I attempt to express myself here with a short condolence. I have written many of these the past few years and while they are never easy, describing some people just cannot be done in this context. I'd have to write a novel to accurately portray my history with and love for Mary and Mike and their family and friends, past and present, two and four-legged. It would be a best seller about a woman with an unlimited and unwavering capacity for love and compassion for all living things. A beautiful spirit that always seemed to remain intact during any trial or tribulation; a ray of light through the storms of life filled with hope and faith and that bright, genuine smile. It would be an epic love story about two people who spent over 40 years together in several places, hosting many friends, facing and conquering many challenges. It would be a book about devoting yourself to others, about rescuing and caring for animals, plants and people (myself included). An audio book or video version would include lots of rock & roll (mostly Southern or Detroit based!) with Mary dancing all the way to the gates of heaven where she would be fitted for her angel's wings which I hope are strong enough to carry a heart and soul that big! I choose to believe that in part because I could not bear the thought of never seeing or hugging her again. So this is a mere summary of a special lady whose friendship changed my life and made a difference wherever she went and with whomever she crossed paths. I LOVE YOU sweet Mary and I promise to keep an eye on Mike and your memory alive in my heart. God hold you close and I will forever be grateful for the blessing or your love and friendship!!

Mary was a wonderful woman. I only was privileged enough to see her once a year- at the annual work Christmas party, but that was enough for her to make a big impression on me. Her faith was un-waivering, unfailing and I would like to believe that's what got her through to the end. Her smile could light up a room! I am at a loss for words what to exactly say that would even serve her the deserving respect and justice I feel she welcomed and earned with just her general presence, vibrance in life, and undeniable faith that I admired (and continue to admire) so much. I am sad at the great loss- for Mike, her family, daughter, siblings, grandchildren, & great grandbabies- and wish them only the best as they cope with this horrific loss now. I can only share my condolences and wish the very best for everyone- whom's lives she touched.... I will miss her tremendously and I did not even know her that well. I have the fondest empathy for everyone who is grieving her loss, especially you Mike.. You let me know if YOU need anything;) xoxoxoxo Heidi
