Obituary of Harold Jesse Weinstein Jr.

Harold Jesse Weinstein Jr. was born in Detroit on December 31, 1954. He was the son of Harold and Theresa (Karas) Weinstein Sr. He attended Jefferson High School earning his GED through Detroit Public Schools in 1974. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Harold, honorably served from 1974-1977. He received his Machinist Apprenticeship from Monroe County Community College in 1983. Harold married Sharon Massie on June 7, 1975, and from this union came the birth of Craig, Holly, and Eric. After that relationship, Harold made his home with Connie Trivette for many years. A free spirit, Harold was employed as a tool and die maker for the General Motors Powertrain Plant in Toledo. Upon his retirement in 2005 he moved to the Irish Hills area. Harold was very family-oriented, a loving father and grandfather. Harold often showed his sensitivity and caring for others by his actions. He was very intelligent but chose to be modest and willing to share his knowledge with others. Often tinkering in the garage; he had owned several classic cars, race cars, and even a hyrdroplane. Always the wheeler and dealer, Harold was in search of the next great steal. Harold was very independent, with a great sense of humor, and could be quite sarcastic. His unique outlook on life spurred his creativity. He loved to be outside, fishing, boating, and hunting. Harold, age 62 of Manitou Beach passed away at home under the care of his children Eric and Holly, and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice on Saturday, January 14, 2017. His passing was preceded by his mother: Theresa; a son: Craig; sister: Vivian “Lolly” Yount; brother-in-law: Raymond Walls; and many nieces and nephews. To cherish his memory he leaves two children: Eric and Holly Weinstein both of Monroe; former companion Connie of Bedford; his father: Harold Sr. of Brooklyn; siblings: Darlene Walls of Monroe, Monica Lauderdale of Brooklyn, Darryl (Lynn) Weinstein of Ida, Susan (Ronald) Belman of Brooklyn, Nancy (Frank) Kominek of Carleton, Judy (Aaron) Crawford of Westerville, Ohio; and five grandchildren: Amaya, Jada, and Xavier Sanchez of Monroe, and Tailer and Trevor Weinstein of Arkansas.
