Obituary of Patricia Ellen York
Patricia Ellen Bolton was born on August 27, 1947 in Detroit. She was the daughter of the late Donald Bolton and the late Alice May (Simpson) Bolton. Patricia graduated from Jefferson High School and went on to receive her Pharmacy Technician Certificate. She worked as an assembler at Ford Motor Company retiring in 2012.
In her early years, Patricia enjoyed volunteering her at the American Cancer Foundation and the Jefferson Boosters. She found joy in becoming a skilled league bowler at Nortel Lanes and going to bingo every Friday with her friends. She always loved the beautiful views of life; from the big lilac bush at her kitchen window to her favorite Thomas Kincaid paintings. She truly appreciated what beauty this world had to offer. Patricia cherished spending time with her family. She loved filling her frames with new pictures of her “grandbabies”. Some of her grandchildren’s fondest memories are of everyone getting together for the holidays and those special gifts from Gram. Gram always gave the best gifts, which she always took pride in. She was truly the root of her family. If you needed anything she was there: a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, the honest truth, with no judgments, or just a hug (she was the best at giving that). Most important to her was letting us all know that “through GOD anything is possible” and to “trust in our Lord.”
Patricia Ellen York, age 69, of Newport passed away on October 20, 2016 at 5:58pm surrounded by her loving family at Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte. She is preceded in death by: her parents Donald Bolton and Alice May (Simpson) Bolton, her daughter Jill York and her sister Karen (Videan) Stephens.
To cherish her memory, Patricia leaves two daughters: Lori (Mario) Panza of Newport and Sheri Edwards of Newport; her brother: Robert Videan of Seabring, Florida. Six grandchildren: Ryan York (Nicole Branham), Kimberly Lake, Alicia Panza (Kevin Cannon), Sara (David) Barnes, Emily Edwards and Mario Panza II. Four great grandchildren: Lucas Robinson, Sophia York, Elijah York, and Mila Lake.
