Obituary of Mark Raymond Holcomb

Mark Raymond Holcomb was born in Trenton, Michigan on August 20, 1969. He was one of two children born and raised on a farm from the late John R. Holcomb and the late Karen (Zink) Holcomb. Mark was a graduate of Monroe high School and attended Monroe County Community College and The University of Toledo. He honorably served in The United States Navy and The Army Reserves during the Persian Gulf War. After the military, he supported himself as a truck driver for various companies. Mark had a unique disposition and mostly kept to himself. He had an appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting . In his quiet time, Mark could be found reading his favorite novels by Lewis L’Amour. He will be especially missed by his Aunt, Pat Sype. Mark Raymond Holcomb, age 47, of Toledo passed away at 4:02pm on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Arbors of Sylvania. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by his brother: Corey Dean Holcomb. To cherish his memory, he leaves his stepmother: Jeanette Holcomb; his stepbrothers: Patrick and Ronald Oley of Monroe; two step sisters: Shannon Moore and Teri Oley of Monroe. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Gethsemane Cemetery on Heiss Road in Monroe under the auspice of VFW Post 1138 with Deacon Mike Hammond of St. Charles Borromeo Church to officiating.
