Obituary of Betty Wigman

Betty A. Wigman, age 83, of Monroe, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Monroe. Betty had been under the care of ProMedica hospice of Monroe. She was born on January 7, 1933 to William and Charlotte (Munch) Dusablon in Monroe. Betty married the love of her life, Donald W. Wigman on September 27, 1952. Betty was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Monroe for more than sixty years. She taught Sunday School and served as treasurer for LWML for several years. She worked for several years as a bookkeeper and secretary in the Monroe area. Betty enjoyed baking, aquanastics at the YMCA, vacations and spending time with family. To cherish her memory, Betty leaves her loving husband of 63 years, Don; son Don Jr. (Sue); daughter Jane (Niles) Kruger; brother Bill (Chicki) Dusablon of California; three sisters-in-law; five grandchildren Andy (Stacey) and Kate Wigman; Kim, Carrie and Anna Kruger; two great-grandchildren Emma & Abel Wigman; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Clara Neidermeier & June Johnson. Friends may gather from 3:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe (734)384-5185. She will lie in state Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 10:00am until a funeral service at 11:00am at Grace Lutheran Church, 630 North Monroe Street Monroe, with Reverend John Shinkle officiating. Procession will follow to Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, Flat Rock, Michigan for burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to ProMedica Monroe Hospice or Grace Lutheran Church.
