My oldest and dearest lifelong friend is gone. Best of friends growing up and as teenagers, we shared everything: our dreams, our joys, our fears, our stories. We were inseparable. Our lives placed us many miles apart, but our hearts always stayed connected. Sue endured tribulation and suffering like none other. She swallowed her doubts and constantly fought to survive and thrive. She had no higher desire than to be a mother and grandmother and loved her daughters and family fiercely. A truly loving and all-embracing individual, one wanting to keep her hands in the dirt and her soul in the outdoors, I will continue to miss her immensurably. My love to all of the girls: stay strong and united. My hugs to Dad Porter, Dave, Sandy, and Jennifer: you have lost far too much. With prayers and love for you all, Mary

Sue was the epitome of the strong mother. She was never going to let MS get the best of her and she always wanted to do the best for her girls. She was a good friend and although we now live across the country when we visited Monroe and saw her it was just like old times and we picked up right where we left off. She raised 5 daughters into bright young women . She will be missed by many and will be an example of strength and grace under the most difficult of situations. Our love and prayers to the girls, Shannon, Carly, Amy, Sara and Beth.
