Penny was part of our family for over 20 years. She was a very special friend and companion to Joe who responded whenever she called for help or needed rides to appointments. A family joke was calling her "Andre" because when she called, "Andre V" would appear on our caller ID. Penny loved to maintain a garden, so Joe would help to prepare one for her for years. She also loved camping, so he used to pull a trailer to a campground for her. We often sent her food which she appreciated. Her favorites were mashed potatoes and macaroni salad. Penny was always upbeat, loved to laugh and made us laugh. She's also remembered for her love of pets. She loved her cats and especially her little dog Dexter. We will miss her, and will always cherish our fond (and funny) memories of her. Rest in peace dear friend, The Vandeveldes ... Joe, Sue, Mary & Sandy

Penny was a very close childhood friend of mine We were next door neighbors all my school years. She was funny, smart and a great friend. I loved her very much. We spent a lot of time together. I moved out of state not long after graduating and we just lost contact. I will forever remember you Penny. You were a beautiful person and a wonderful friend. Love you ❤️. Kay Coch /Coogan
