Please share a memory of Stanley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Stanley Joseph Malek Jr. was born on December 5, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan to the union of Stanley Malek Sr. and Kathleen (Linville) Malek.  After proudly graduating from high school, Stanley became a man of dedication and service. His commitment to his country was evident through his brave enlistment in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he returned to his roots in Michigan, where he built a fulfilling career as a Kiln Operator. Stanley was not just a dedicated worker but also an active union member, advocating for the rights and well-being of his colleagues.

Stanley was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was happiest when he was outdoors, whether he was patiently waiting for a fish to bite or meticulously tending to his garden. His love for nature extended to catching butterflies with his beloved wife, an activity that brought them both much joy. Together they enjoyed forty-two years of wedded bliss and had two beautiful daughters.

Stanley Joseph Malek Jr., a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, in Monroe, Michigan, at the age of 76. His passing was preceded by his parents: Stanley Sr. and Kathleen Malek. And his loving wife JoAnn (Paruch) Malek.

He leaves behind a loving legacy through his daughters: Shannon (Darryl) Littlefield and Christa (Edward) Hanley; a sister: Mary Lou McLaughlan; five grandchildren: Stephen (Kelsie) Hanley, Hunter (Alexa) Young, Dominique Young, Coiene Young (Paris Flores), and Tyler Hanley, will forever cherish the memories of their time spent with him. Stanley was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Vaughn Young, Joseph Beeler, Isabella Hanley, Alita Beeler, Hazel Hanley, O'Dell Young, Zavier Flores, and William Young—who brought him unlimited joy and pride.

His journey on earth may have ended, but the memories he created will forever be treasured, like precious butterflies caught in the garden of our hearts. No public services are planned. His care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
