Obituary of Ronald Gene Massingill

Ronald Gene Massingill was born on April 28, 1942, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of two sons born to the union of Walter Massingill and Hallie (Edmondson) Massingill. He attended Dundee Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1960.

On June 10, 1961, at St. Matthews Church Ronald married the love of his life, the former Patricia Heiden and together the couple were blessed with four sons: Tim, Ted, Tracy, and Troy.  Ronald provided for his family through employment at Ford Motor Company for many years.

Ronald Gene Massingill, age 82 of Dundee, Michigan passed away on Tuesday; August 13, 2024, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. His passing was preceded by his parents: Walter and Hallie Massingill; a son Troy Massingill in 2015; his brother: Vaughn Massingill; and a nephew: Mark Massingill.

To cherish Ronald’s memory he leaves his loving wife of sixty-three years: Patricia Massingill of Dundee, Michigan; three sons: Tim (Becky) Massingill, Ted (Brenda) Massingill and Tracy Massingill; his daughter in law: Trish Massingill of Milan, Michigan; five grandchildren: Josh, Cody (Jessica), Tanner (Tessa), Daniel, and Bryce; seven great grandchildren: Hunter, Nathan, Riley, Kaydence, Kymberlee, Kooper, and Madison.

No public services are planned at this time. Ronald’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131 (734) 529-3156. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
