The obit listed me as Sebastian's step son, but to me he was my dad. Wherever he is now I hope he is reunited with our pets that he loved and cared for, our dogs: Brownie, Goose, CJ, and cats: Misty and Stumpy. I appreciate how welcoming the Schmitt family has always been to my mother and I. My parents were married and divorced and twice, which is a testimate to their love and stubbornness! Sebastian started his career working at Metro Airport in Detroit and quickly worked his way up to manager for Miami Aircraft Support. He transfered to Dallas Fort Worth airport in 1993 when we moved to Texas. He was very successful there, but the long hours and stress of airport logistics caused him to leave that career and he quickly found a new one with Crown Bolt. He started there at the very bottom as a temporary employee at their warehouse. In just a couple of years he had worked his way up to a traveling merchandiser servicing Home Depot stores across the country to manage their products. He eventually settled back into the Dallas Fort Worth area when Crown Bolt was purchased by Home Depot and he managed the Home Depot Supply aisles in 5 different stores until he retired. Some of my best memories we shared were going fishing when I was a kid and all the sporting events we went to and watched together throughout his life. Some of my favorite moments we shared was when the Detroit Pistons won the NBA championship in 2004, the TCU Football team that had an undefeated regular season in 2009, in 2010 and 2011 when the Texas Rangers went to the world series two years in a row, and when Matt Kenseth won the NASCAR Championship in 2003. We also got to see Bob Seger's farewell tour in 2019. Sebastian was also a good friend to all of my friends, especially Tom Roche, Daniel Crain, and Jon Blue. I was fortunate to have Sebastian in my life through the good and the bad. Everything changes, but nothing is truly lost. Love, Adam
