This is incredibly sad to read. Condolences to Gayle, George's sons and families.
In addition to all of our school years together and playing sports at Jefferson, George, myself and Don Germain spent hundreds if not thousands of hours playing ball at Erie Shores and throughout the beaches challenging all. George would go into his sports announcer mode calling the action whether it was hoops, baseball, putt putt or even wiffleball. Many nights especially in the summer we would crash in our garages or back porches and begin again the next morning. George's father and mother treated us as their own sons. George's mom always called me Kovie. Great memories. Rest easy old friend.
