Obituary of Dennis Stephen Guyon

Please share a memory of Dennis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dennis Stephen Guyon, 68, passed away on June 13, 2024 while visiting family in Monroe, MI. He was born on August 3, 1955 in Albany, NY to the late Stanley and Julie Guyon.

A resident of East Greenbush, NY Dennis was a devoted husband to Lorraine Tremont Guyon, a proud father to Jessica (Aaron) Dougherty and Christopher Guyon, and a cherished Grampy to Henry and Cora Dougherty. He is also survived by his brother, Gary (Jean) Guyon, his brother-in-law David (Deb) Tremont, his nieces and nephews, Ashley (Brandon) Ballou, Michael (Morgan) Tremont, Stephanie King (Daniel F. Noriega), Daniel Tremont (Sarah Flexon), grand dogs Cookie Monster and Taylor, and a modest fleet of self-taught and expertly played instruments. He was happily enjoying retirement from his position as a Senior Communications Specialist with The Lighting Research Center at RPI.

Dennis had many passions, including the Beatles, classic cars, photography, engaging in charity and volunteer work, creating art and music with his friends and using his mechanical gifts to fix whatever was broken. He enjoyed baseball, especially when the Yankees won, as well as bowling and golf. He could be easily recognized as an integral, mustachioed member of the Church of St. Vincent de Paul music ministry in Albany, where he and his wife made music together for over 40 years. He took pride in his culinary skills, particularly in making overly complicated charcuterie presentations for holiday get-togethers. His favorite thing, however, was to eat the bits of crusty burned sauce around a pan of chicken parm. Dennis was known for his dedication to his children’s theatrical pursuits, often building sets, props, or running a soundboard.

A celebration of Dennis’ life and a Memorial Mass will be announced at a future date. Contributions can be made to https://www.guitarsintheclassroom.org/ in memory of Dennis.
