Obituary of Rhonda Lou Johnson
Rhonda Lou Cicanese was born December 30, 1951. She was one daughter born from the union of Joseph and Barbara (Schell) Cicanese. After graduating from high school, Rhonda became gainfully employed by the Fermi II Power Plant where she steadily progressed through the ranks, eventually taking on the role of Head of Maintenance.
Rhonda was joined in Holy Matrimony with the love of her life: Mack Johnson on August 31, 1990, and they remained married until his untimely passing in 2018.
Every day, Rhonda would start her morning by driving around town to grab an iced cappuccino from Tim Hortons, a little treat that brought her joy. But it was her compassion for the stray animals in her community that truly defined her.
One of Rhonda’s favorite spots to visit was St. Joseph Cemetery, in Monroe, where she would feed the squirrels and birds with corn, bread and nuts. Outside of her own house, she extended her care to the deer and a fox, ensuring they had enough food to thrive in the wild.
In her forties, Rhonda discovered a passion for country dancing and shared this hobby with her husband, Mack. In fact, they were very accomplished dancers and together, they were the 1998 United Country Western Dance Council Classic Diamond Advanced World Champions. The duo enjoyed social dancing with friends as well as teaching dance, when they weren’t cutting a rug themselves.
Rhonda Lou Johnson, age 72, of Monroe, passed away Thursday June 20, 2024, at her home. In addition to her passing she is preceded by her father: Joseph Cicanese; her husband: Mack Johnson and a brother: Joey Cicanese.
Left to cherish her memory, she leaves three sons: Trevor Rogoff, Jason (Amanda) Johnson, Mack Todd Johnson; grandchildren: Erin Johnson, Kaylyn Johnson, Mack Johnson, Arianna Rogoff and Jacob Johnson; mother: Barbara Cicanese and great grandchildren.
