In 11th grade when Riverview schools lost funding for their music program, my sister Annie and I moved into Aunt Dee’s house to attend Jefferson Schools. She attended every concert,(there were many) and cheered us both on as we marched in the band. Jenny and Mary Beth continued the legacy by marching in the color guard as well. Every home game she was there, not just my aunt and my godmother but as one of the loudest personal cheerleaders I ever had! Military life took me away from “home” but when I returned she made the coolest wedding cake including gold fish in the fountain. She would sing late at night on the road trips back to the Point and she had a voice of an Angel. She loved each and everyone of us and I have never played kick the can since leaving “home.” I can still hear her laughing as we were sneaking up to kick it.
Thanks for the memories and love.
