Obituary of Dorothy Louise Monhollen
Dorothy Louise Burwell or “Dot” as she became commonly known as was born on January 18, 1942, in McBain, Michigan in Missaukee County. She was one of four children raised by her mother: Betty Lou (Van Meter) Burwell. Dot attended Bedford High School and graduated with the class of 1960.
On June 16, 1962, at the Lucas County Courthouse in Toledo, Ohio, Dot married the love of her life: Ronald Dale Monhollen. Together the couple were blessed with a daughter and three sons: Gloria, Ronald, Greg, and Eric. Sadly, after thirty-seven years of blissful marriage Ronald passed away on November 20, 2000. To help provide for her family, Dot worked for over thirty years as a stamping press operator for Bernard Engraving.
Dot enjoyed crocheting and spent many hours creating afghan for her family members. Although she didn’t have a favorite NASCAR driver or football team these were the two sports, she enjoyed watching the most. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers around her yard. Dot enjoyed spending time in the kitchen whipping up her homemade spaghetti or chicken noodle soup. Of all things in this world, she cherished spending time with family the most.
