To a woman who shared my love of stories and poems, and someone who was one of the biggest fans of my own poems. I'm sorry this one has to be for you. I love and I miss you greatly.
To Face The Weather Again.
I sat with this mourning
through three suns longer
than I thought I'd need,
but not a single one of these
nightmares
ever told me it was a dream.
Too soon it is time
to wade through a sea of
immeasurable sorrow
until it reaches my chest
and unleashes these sobs
like cracks of thunder.
There is no guidance
through this bombardment
of the soul
nor does the heart relent
once pierced by grief
until it gives way to numbness.
The world has a little less magic
and a lot less color
without you.
And it is the duty
of those you have
raised, loved, and taught
to return it to the world around them.
The caliber of woman we lost
is a true shame to the sanctity
of the world
for it cannot be replaced, replicated,
or recovered.

I have a lifetime of memories of my oldest sister but those that I cherish most were growing up right alongside your children.
We spent many summer days at the old Adelina Park or in our back yard on Newport Rd.
You were raising your family as our parents were still raising me and Susie. It wasn't easy raising those kids on your own, but you did it and all of them are pretty awesome adults!
We also had supper at our house mostly every Sunday!
I don't have many pictures of us together that haven't already been shared but I will treasure those!

The pain of losing you is undescribable. Words can’t express the love I have for you or the pain of being here without you. I cherish every memory we have and I will never forget you. You were such a strong woman. You did so much for others! Your kindness will never be forgotten. The love you had for others will always be felt. I love you more than I could ever say. Oh, Grandma!
Here I was sitting in the lunch room of high school talking with friends, when one friend brings up a new girl! To my surprise our names were the same, and since then we've been thick as thieves. 20 years ago you couldn't tell me I'd gain a whole bonus family filled with love, compassion, understanding and support. 20 wonderful years I was blessed and honored to know you. The late night runs to Kennys for snacks, the sleep overs, playing sonic on the little TV in the pink living room and laughing til our heads were about to fall off! Thank you for always being there with the best advice and never judging a soul, and most of all for loving Rayvinn and I like your own.

You were the best grandma I could ask for, I remember eating plates of your hoho cakes with you I think that was my favorite part of every morning being able to just sit there and enjoy them with you like no one else. One of my fondest memories mom is when you,me and Jessie went to Kentucky. It was a great road trip. We had so much fun looking at scenery and jamming to Madonna! I will never forget that and how cool It was!

Grandma,
You will be forever loved and always missed. We won’t ever stop talking about you, I don’t think any of us would know how with the way you’ve impacted so many people. You were so smart and almost always had an answer to my silly questions. There isn’t anyone who could ever replace you. You were the best grandma and great grandma in the whole world. My favorite thing was riding around with you and singing your old music. I’ll miss your phone calls “Kayla I need help. My phones possessed again”
It’s the biggest blessing to be named after the greatest woman I’ve truly ever known. And the way our entire family knows mom named me after the right person. Haha.
