Obituary of Clifford Lafayette Keener
Clifford Lafayette Keener was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on February 4, 1949. He was one of two sons born from the union of Clifford L. and Mary Elizabeth (Bisbano) Keener. He graduated with the class of 1967.
Clifford was a man of many talents, having worked in various roles throughout his life. However, it was his career as a landscaper that truly brought him fulfillment and joy for more than twenty-eight years. Even after retirement, Clifford continued to find peace and contentment in the simple act of working in his yard. Whether it was tending to his garden or mowing the lawn, he took pride in ensuring that his outdoor spaces were always well-maintained and beautiful.
One fateful summer, Clifford’s path crossed that of Ima Johnson while she was in Michigan visiting her sister. Their story was one for the ages, and a testament to the power of love. The couple tied the knot on October 4, 1973, in Logan, West Virginia. He remained a devoted husband throughout their fifty years of marriage.
A passionate fan of Cleveland Browns football, Clifford stood by his favorite team, even though their roster never remained consistent. When he wasn't cheering them on, he could be found in his garage, happily tinkering away on cars for his family. His skilled hands and attention to detail made him a master at this craft.
One of Clifford's greatest joys was his diecast car collection. These miniature cars, numbering a few hundred, were proudly displayed on shelves throughout his house.
Clifford's presence illuminated the lives of all who knew him, with his kindness, generosity, and devotion to his loved ones serving as a guiding light. His passion for life, coupled with his selfless nature and genuine care for others, made him a beacon of hope and joy in this world.
