Obituary of Vince Robert Goff
Vince R. Goff was born on October 3, 1954, in Marquette, Michigan. He was the son of Joe B. Goff and Lauretta (Price) Goff. In 1973, he graduated from Dundee High School and continued his education at Siena Heights University. Vince enrolled at Sherman College of Chiropractic in South Carolina, graduating as a Doctor of Chiropractic Care.
Vince married the former Susan Dickerson on June 25, 1977, at the Adrian United Methodist Church in Adrian, Michigan. They were blessed with two daughters. Vince owned and operated Dundee Chiropractic Clinic in his hometown for more than forty-two years until his retirement in February of 2021.
Vince was a cherished member of the Dundee community, known for his dedication and active involvement in many, varied organizations. He was a member of the Dundee United Methodist Church. His passion for education and community development led to significant contributions, including his induction into the Dundee Community Schools Hall of Fame and his service as president of the Board of Education for Dundee Community Schools. Vince also served on the Village Planning Commission and on the Senior Citizens Board of Directors and was an active member of the Michigan Chiropractic Association.
Vince's leadership reached civic organizations, where he served as the president of the Michigan Jaycees and played an influential role in the Dundee chapter of the Jaycees as well. During his tenure as Michigan Jaycee President, he was named one of the five top Presidents in the United States. His service to the Jaycees landed him in the National Jaycee Recruiters Hall of Fame.
In addition to his commitment to the community, Vince was a member of the Tecumseh Golf Club. He found great joy in participating in a Tuesday night league and engaged in tournaments throughout the summer for many years.
Vince R. Goff, age 69, a beloved lifelong resident of Dundee, passed away at 2:35am on Thursday; February 1, 2024, while under the care of Monroe Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Monroe. His passing was preceded by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory, he leaves wife of 46 years, Susan Goff; two daughters Amanda (Gregory) Hertvik of Mentor, Ohio, Samantha (Daniel) Potter of Ann Arbor, Michigan; four grandchildren: Eleanor and Maxwell Hertvik and Everett and Miles Potter.
Friends may gather from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Friday; February 9, 2024, at Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131 (734) 529-3156 and Saturday; February 10, 2024, from 10:00am until the Celebration of His Life at 11:00am at Dundee United Methodist Church; 645 Franklin Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Dundee United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in memory of Vince Goff.
