Obituary of Daniel Keith Massie
Daniel Keith Massie was born in Trenton, Michigan on November 22, 1951. He was the youngest of two children born to Vernon Massie and Sally (Duty) Massie. Danny attended Theodore Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte, Michigan. On February 19, 1983, he wed the love of his life, the former Susan Champagne. The couple were blessed with forty years of marriage and shared a son and two daughters.
A talented self-taught musician, Danny enjoyed strumming on one of his many electric guitars. As a young man, he performed with his band “Endless Chain”. Dan continued to play for his family throughout his life. An avid fan of the classic rock band Led Zeppelin, he was often inspired by their lead guitarist, Jimmy Page. Danny also enjoyed watching movies and was open to exploring any genre of film.
Danny took a casual, laid-back approach to any situation. He had a gentle, sweet nature about him. He also possessed a great sense of humor and always had a witty comment to share. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Dan loved his family deeply. He had an especially close relationship with his eldest grandchild, Trevor. The pair often visited the Wendy’s restaurant together where Danny would treat his grandson to a chocolate Frosty.
