Obituary of Charles Larry Hall

Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Charles Larry Hall was born on November 22, 1943, in Middlesboro, Kentucky. He was one of four children born from the union of Hobart and Flora (Pace) Hall. He married the love of his life, the former Nancy Lee Gaves on February 14, 1964. The happy couple was blessed with the
birth of four children.

Charles enjoyed watching old movies, such as Westerns featuring John Wayne. He also enjoyed listening to various ministers speak about the Word of God and he would take what they said to heart.

Charles was very wise and gifted with his hands. To provide for his family, he was gainfully employed in maintenance and later in life, as a master automotive and diesel mechanic, retiring in 2010. He had an innate ability to provide guidance and assistance when it came to vehicles, home repairs and heavy equipment. He enjoyed this type of work and the idea of helping others with his skills. If you ever needed help, Charles was the person to call. In recent years, Charles was eager to keep his mind sharp and to continue expanding his knowledge. He often would watch tutorials and teach those around him how to do things he once did.

Beyond his passion for cars and shows, Charles was a selfless man, always concerned about everyone else, especially their health and wellbeing. You could often hear him asking how others were doing and figuring out how to help people in need.

Charles's love extended to his children and grandchildren. He found great joy in offering sound advice based on his life experiences when they were around. He worked hard to provide everything needed for his family. Watching a show with Charles was an experience like no other. It was definitely a memorable experience to hear how something was really done versus what was on the show. These shared moments were unforgettable and brought a sense of reality to the occasion.
