Obituary of Erin Noelle Michaels
Erin Noelle Michaels was born on May 24, 1967, in Lincoln Park, Michigan. She was one of four children born to the union of Hurley G. and Jacqueline J. (Frazier) Michaels. Erin attended Airport High School in Carleton, Michigan, graduating with the class of 1985. After high school she attended the Coleman Beauty School in Flat Rock, Michigan and upon completion took a position at the Hair Lodge in Flat Rock then Karen’s Hair Salon in Flat Rock, Michigan where she styled hair for more than twelve years.
Erin loved to garden and spending time watering and pruning her vegetables, plants, and flowers. She enjoyed growing all types of peppers and had several aloe vera plants. She was a fantastic cook and anyone fortunate enough to indulge in one of her homemade meals never left the home hungry. Many people craved Erin’s fried chicken, city chicken, pulled pork, homemade chili, and pizza. During the holidays the kitchen would be filled with the sweet aroma of her poke cake and wreath and no-bake cookies.
Erin loved painting whether it was paint by numbers or her ceramic pots she painted to resemble Elmo and Oscar the grouch. She enjoyed baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers and her favorite player from the team was Akil Baddoo. Erin was super groovy that no matter what was going on in her own life she always had the ability to make others laugh. She was a true Do-it-Yourselfer or as her son described her, “she was like a Swiss Army Knife” able to do anything. Erin loved her family, friends, and animals, especially her cats: Lucky, Pretty Boy, Baby, and Biggie.
