Obituary of Joan Mary Fletcher

Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joan Mary Cwiertniewicz was born on November 7, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan.  She was one of four children born from the union of Joseph and Gertrude (Lock) Cwiertniewicz. She was educated in the Detroit Public Schools system, graduating in 1958.

Joan found immense pleasure in playing bingo.  She visited games in Toledo and at the local Odd Fellows club, often in the company of her sister. Together, they formed an unstoppable duo, always ready to shout the triumphant, "BINGO!" Joan's enthusiasm for the game was infectious, and her presence brightened the atmosphere of every venue she visited.

A self-proclaimed couponer, she had an indomitable spirit when it came to finding the best deals in town. Whether it was scouring the aisles of Meijer, Walmart, or Kohl's, Joan refused to pay full price for anything that caught her eye. She embraced the thrill of the hunt, delighting in the small victories of scoring a great bargain.

Joan had an inquisitive nature and a thirst for knowledge.  Her curiosity and intrigue were showcased by her fascination with the crime show, Forensic Files. She quickly became engrossed, fascinated by the intricate details of the criminal investigations and the pursuit of justice.

Above all else, Joan truly cherished her family. The love and adoration she held for them knew no bounds. Joan was a dedicated mother, a caring sister, and a doting, supportive grandparent.
