Denise Lynne O’Dell was born on May 24, 1962, in Trenton, Michigan. She was one of three children born from the union of William J. O’Dell and Betty (Sanderson) O’Dell.
As a true flower child and a free-spirited hippie who cherished life's simple pleasures, Denise embraced a philosophy of peace, love, and harmony. She danced gracefully through life, finding solace in nature's embrace and radiating a positive energy that touched everyone she met. Denise was a beautiful soul who brought love and compassion to everyone she encountered.
One of Denise's favorite pastimes was delving into the mysteries of the supernatural. She had an insatiable curiosity for all things related to ghosts and paranormal activity, always eagerly tuning in to any show or documentary that explored these topics. Denise's open-mindedness allowed her to appreciate the wonder and intrigue of the unknown, sparking fascinating discussions and thought-provoking dialogue with friends and loved ones.
Denise had a deep appreciation for her Native American heritage, which she elegantly expressed through her unique sense of style. She possessed an innate ability to blend Native American influences into her wardrobe, choosing vibrant colors and intricate patterns that paid homage to her ancestry.
Denise's love for animals knew no bounds. She nurtured her furry friends with unwavering devotion, offering them a safe and loving home where they could thrive. She will always be remembered as a devoted animal lover, with a special affinity for her feline companions and her beloved dog, Jack.

Denise Lynne O’Dell, age 61, of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday; September 12, 2023. Her passing was preceded by her parents and her grandparents.
To cherish her memory, she leaves a son: Robert Arvin, Jr.; a daughter: Naomi O’Dell; her former husband: Robert Arvin, Sr.; a sister: Eva Zerrudo; a brother: Bill O’Dell; and five grandchildren: Robert Joshua, Ashlar Shawn, Seth J., Cailin Rae, and Layla Rose.
Friends may gather from 3:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday; September 20, 2023, at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 11:00am on Thursday; September 21, 2023, also at Merkle’s. A procession will follow to Michigan Memorial Park for burial.
