Joann and I was friends all through Elementary school. Not quite sure when we lost contact with each other. But a few years ago she stalked me on Facebook, friended me, had seen that I was not working because I had MS, and all because she was looking for a dog sitter.
We became good friends again and reminisced about everything in the past. She became a sister to me.
She always talked about her kids and her grandkids. They were the love of her life. She would do just about anything for anybody to help them out. She would give her clothes to them should even give her husband's clothes away. I always gave the neighbor kids candy, popsicles, leftover meals.
She never really kept anything for long because she's always giving it away to help other people. Bob got lucky she hung on to him. We had some good times.
I'm very honored to be one of her caregivers in her last few months of life. She left behind a group of people she loved, and we all became friends. We shared the duties of taking care of her, telling our life stories of her. We are Jo's peeps.

Jo Jo had a very special connection with Brian her nephew. She would come down and clean his room or touch his toes which pissed him off. And she hugged and hugged and hugged and kissed him and kissed him and kiss him and Brian wanted to kill her. But he loved his aunt Jo Jo. She was always there for him. Now they’re together I find comfort in that.

I met Jo at Jacks wedding and she was so sweet my girl Shayanne. We still have the flowers she gave her and we will keep them forever.

These are Jo’s peeps!!! When in the hospital all she wanted to do is come home and be with her peeps and just talk. We have no idea how much she loved her friends. They meant the world to her. Thank you Jo for letting me be your friend. I was honored.

Though Joann is no longer with us, her vibrant spirit continues to inspire. Her warm love, captivating kindness, overwhelming generosity and steadfast courage remain in our hearts. Despite turning to battle cancer, Joann's faith never wavered - her strength to love and care for others unwavering. She lives on within those she affectionately charmed as 'Jo Jo friends.' I am eternally grateful for the treasured memories we shared. Her legacy of unconditional love endures beyond a lifetime.

Joe came down to Florida so I could go see my son in Tallahassee and she watch Brian for me. Lol I put a fake turtle in the pool. And she called me screaming and I was in the middle of a restaurant. I was laughing so hard I think about peeing my pants, but then two weeks later, there was a real really big turtle in the pool and we couldn’t get it out. That’s why we both give each other turtles !!!!

I believed that Jo Jo was an angel from God for me. I really did believe that. I had my nephew Brian for 20 years and the last five years was very hard on me. But Jo Jo would come down and help me with Brian. I was so exhausted and so wore out. That she was my angel. I hope at the end I was her angel.

Joann was one of the most beautiful, fun loving,caring and big hearted young ladies I had the honor to know and love. She loved all who loved her, and she really loved her animals, she always talked so highly of her boys, and her grand kids, her trips to Florida, and of course she liked to spend time with some "Captain".

The passing of Joann leaves a void that cannot be filled. Her selfless spirit, abundant generosity and infectious humor were unwavering. She was a beacon of faith and passion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Admired for her kindness and giving nature, Joann's mere presence acted as a balm for others' pain. My fondest memory of JoAnn was her being right by my side when my mom passed away. Holding my hand at her memorial service, just as I got to hold JoAnn's a few days before her passing. She was my best friend that was always there for me. Another memory is going to the church in Bellville for the bible study they were having. I am so glad she found the Lord. We would spend many nights talking about Him and how he has blessed us. May she sleep waiting for Jesus to come back and wake her to glory. I love and miss you so much, thank you for being in my life, you made it much better.
