Obituary of Rodney Harold Woolard

Rodney Harold Woolard was born on November 21, 1954, in Flint, Michigan. He was the youngest of two sons born to the union of Jordon Ralph Sr. and June (Beardslee) Woolard. Rodney graduated from Bendle High School in Burton, Michigan with the Class of 1972. He subsequently furthered his education at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan and Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan where he studied Secondary Education.

On May 3, 1980, Rodney married the former Brenda L. Karl of Blissfield, Michigan. Together they welcomed two daughters, Stephanie and LeeAnn. For nearly twenty years, Rodney worked for Bay Corrugated Container, Inc. in Monroe, whom he deemed the best employer on Earth. He considered his colleagues family.

Rodney was passionate about imparting his knowledge and enthusiasm for film noir, political science, mathematics, and the Holy Bible onto others. Extremely patriotic, he had a deep love for and great pride in his country. Most importantly, Rodney relished being a grandfather to his two granddaughters: Annalise and Alexandria, who were the apple of his eye.

Rodney Harold Woolard, age 68, of Monroe, Michigan, was received into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday; July 12, 2023. His passing was preceded by his parents and his beloved kitty, “Pepper”.

To cherish his memory, Rodney leaves two daughters: Stephanie (Anthony) Tenorio of Monroe, Michigan and LeeAnn (Ryan) Woody of Livonia, Michigan; two granddaughters: Annalise Woody and Alexandria Woody; and one older brother: Jordon Ralph (Brenda S.) Woolard Jr. of Flushing, Michigan.

No public services are planned at this time. Private inurnment will take place at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Rodney’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation, of Erie, Michigan.
