Eric Wayne Osborne was born on September 8, 1976, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of three sons born to the union of Dale A. Osborne and Toni L. (Scheffel) Ruettinger.  Eric attended Monroe High School in Monroe, Michigan. Although he did not graduate with his class, he persevered and continued his education to receive his G.E.D.

Eric loved being outdoors breathing in the fresh air, whether he was catching a baseball game with his mother, Toni, people watching down by Lake Erie or casting a line into the lake in hopes of reeling in whatever was biting. He kept up on the day’s current events and breaking news and would call his dad to update him on what was happening around the globe. Eric enjoyed watching mixed martial arts (MMA) and cooking shows to pass the time and relax. More than anything else, he cherished spending time with his girlfriend of twenty years, Lisa Ball, and his son, Mikhail, whom he loved very much.

Eric Wayne Osborne, age 46, of Monroe, Michigan passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, Ohio. His passing was preceded by his stepfather:  James Ruettinger and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

To cherish Eric’s memory he leaves behind his mother: Toni Lynn Ruettinger of Monroe, Michigan; his father and step-mother: Dale (Pam) Osborne of Willis, Michigan; his son: Mikhail Osborne of Monroe, Michigan; his girlfriend of twenty years: Lisa Ball of Monroe, Michigan; two brothers: Bryan (Lisa) Osborne and Steven (Amy Brantley) Osborne, both of Monroe, Michigan; step-brother: Jeremy Wielopolski; five step-sisters: Stacie (John) Ciacelli, Melissa (Randy) Magargle, Cathie (Bobby)Herrera, Christie Moore and Kristine (Sundiata) Jordan. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Friends may gather to celebrate Eric’s life on Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at the Monroe Moose Lodge 884, 1320 North Macomb Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162. Eric’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan
