Obituary of David Rivard Buck
David Rivard Buck was born on September 24, 1946, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of four children born to the union of Burton and Mary (Rivard) Buck. David graduated from Jefferson High School in Newport, Michigan with the Class of 1964. In October of 1988, after seventeen years of committed employment with Ford Motor Company, David retired from the Wixom Assembly Plant in Wixom, Michigan. He was a proud member of the United Auto Workers Local 36.
On April 26, 1986, in Flat Rock, Michigan David married the love of his life, the former Ms. Peggy Dyl. The couple would enjoy thirty-seven years as husband and wife. David loved to cruise the open road on his Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle. He enjoyed hunting deer, rabbit and squirrel in Gladwin and Missaukee County, Michigan. He also found peace in casting a line and reeling in whatever was biting that day. Although David truly cherished the time he spent in the great outdoors, it couldn’t compare to just a single moment with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
David Rivard Buck, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at his home in Monroe, Michigan. His passing was preceded by his parents: Burton and Mary Buck; two sisters: Patricia Mistiatis and Margie Buck; and one brother: John Buck.
To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his loving wife of thirty-seven years: Peggy Buck of Monroe, Michigan; four daughters: Pamela Turner of Newport, Michigan, Lori Spain of Monroe, Michigan, Kelly Buck of Newport, Michigan, and Donna (Robert) Perez of Arizona; three sons: Mike (Kim) Buck of Carleton, Michigan, Terry (Lisa) Miracle of Chugiak, Alaska, and Thomas Miracle of Monroe, Michigan; eighteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Burial of David’s cremated remains will take place at 12:00pm Friday, June 30, 2023, at St. Charles Cemetery in Berlin Township, Michigan with Father Henry Rebello of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Newport, Michigan, as celebrant. David’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734)384-5185. Cremation has taken place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
