Obituary of Beatrice Martin

Beatrice was born on June 15, 1944, at home in Erie, Michigan. She was one of ten children born from the union of Charles and Ruth (LaVoy) Stacy. Beatrice graduated from Monroe High School with the class of 1962.  

Above anything, Beatrice loved her family. She treasured the time she spent with them and looked forward to daily telephone and FaceTime calls. Beatrice was always a great host.  In her quiet time, Beatrice could be seen flipping the pages of her favorite books.

Beatrice came from good genes and was raised to be a strong, independent woman.  In fact, her own mother lived to be ninety-nine!  These essential life lessons prepared her to raise four rowdy sons all on her own.

Beatrice Martin, age 78, of Erie passed away at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital at 12:28pm on Friday; June 9, 2023. Her passing was preceded by her parents; three sisters: Amy Stacy, Lola Mae, and Mary Lou; and three brothers: Phil Stacy, Tom Stacy, Adrian Stacy.

To cherish her memory, she leaves four sons: Steve (Lisa) Pollock, Jeffry (Jeri) Pollock, Brian Pollock, and Robert (Sarah) Pollock; ten grandchildren: Andrew Pollock, Samantha Hartenstine, Amanda Rauch, Michayla Blair, Alexis Pollock, Felicia Pollock, Carissa Lautzenheiser, Amelia Pollock, Jackson Pollock, and Vincent Saxton; two step grandsons: William Davison and Brandon Wamsley; eight great grandchildren and one on the way, due January 2024; a sister: Barbara Schultz; and two brothers: Bill Stacy and Dave Stacy.

No public services are planned. Her care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, Erie; 9156 Summit Street, Erie, Michigan 48133 (734) 317-7199. Cremation has taken place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
