Obituary of Wayne David Robinson
Wayne David Robinson was born on September 25, 1946, in Manchester, Kentucky. He was one of four children born to the union of Irving and Jane (Slusher) Robinson. Being the son of a coal miner, Wayne learned at an early age about the hard work necessary to provide for a family. Wayne never had the opportunity to attend high school, instead he took over the daily duties on the farm at age fourteen when his father became ill with “black lung”. In Wayne’s early twenties he moved to Michigan after obtaining a job at a steel factory. Shortly after, he secured a position with General Motors Company at their Ypsilanti Hydramatic Plant. His career spanned more than thirty-two years before retiring in 2004.
On August 20, 1983, in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Wayne married the former, Margie Johnson. Wayne was a loving and simple man who enjoyed gambling and visiting any casino he could find a ride to. He enjoyed trips to Tennessee to visit his family. Wayne loved eating out at his favorite restaurant; Texas Roadhouse. He loved watching sports, especially baseball. His favorite MLB team was the Detroit Tigers, but his all-time favorite team was the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. Wayne found solace sitting outdoors enjoying the weather and listening to bluegrass music. Wayne will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
