Obituary of Etta Loretta Huffman
Etta Loretta Miller was born in Bay City, Michigan on May 20, 1927. She was the daughter of Beatrice (Miller) Ross.
Etta was employed by Vescio of Saginaw, Michigan for more than thirty years. She worked in many different capacities at several stores but served as a cashier mostly. Not having the opportunity to finish her formal education she continued her education at Grayling High School proudly graduating with the Class of 1997.
Etta was blessed with three children and was married to John Tilley until his death in 1987. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, always putting others first. “To know her was to love her.” Etta loved to read her bible, praying with and for others, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face.
Etta Loretta Huffman, age 95, of Bay City passed away at 4:09am on Thursday; April 20, 2023 at Woodhaven in Bay City where she resided. She was under the care of Heart to Heart Hospice and surrounded by her loving family.
Her passing was preceded by her mother Beatrice Ross; three spouses: John Tilley, Clyde Nash, Clifton Huffman; granddaughter; Dawn Tilley-Woolwine; great grandson; David Gillis; and a son-in-law: Gary L. Taynor.
To cherish her memory she leaves three children: Donald (Judy) Tilley of Bay City, Katherine Taynor of Toledo, and Judy (Don) Jubar of Mio; nine grandchildren: Donald (Brandy) Tilley, Lori (Mike) Ramon, Pam (Bob) Tomczak, Juli Jubar, Cheryl Adair, Becky (Terry) Elliott, Donald Jubar, Gary Taynor, and Megan (Valerie) Megenuph; twenty-two great grandchildren; and twenty-two great-great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service is being planned at a date to be determined. Her cremated remains will be inurned at the Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City, Michigan. Her care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. Cremation has taken place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
