Obituary of Sandra Lee Billups

Sandra Lee Barnier was born in Monroe, Michigan on February 3, 1969.  She was born to Francis Barnier and Helen (Devee) Haskins Barnier. She graduated from Summerfield High School and continued her education by earning an associate degree from Washtenaw Community College.

On September 4, 1993, Sandra married the love of her life Tim Billups in Dundee, Michigan. In 1996, the couple was blessed with their first child Samuel, and three years later their second son Jacob was born. 

Sandra was a working mom and was fortunate to have reliable childcare right next door. She was employed in the Events Department at Eastern Michigan University.   Her position as an Account Representative afforded her the opportunity to meet many different people.  Sandra was often remembered as a cheerful and helpful person who always had a bright smile. 

Sandra Lee Billups, age 54 of Ypsilanti, Michigan passed away on Thursday; March 30, 2023, at Vibrant Life Assisted Living in Superior Township. Her passing was preceded by her parents Francis Barnier and Helen (Devee) Stura and brothers David Haskins and Delbert Barnier. 

Sandra left behind her beloved husband of twenty-nine years: Tim; two sons: Samuel and Jacob; four sisters: Marsha Hull, Beth Elkins, Michelle McFall, and Debbie Mabry; six brothers: Joseph, Marshall, Bobby, and Jimmy Haskins, Francis Jr., and Todd Barnier; and a host of loving aunts and uncles, nieces, and nephews. 

Friends and family may gather from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131 (734) 529-3156. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 3:00pm also at Merkle’s with Pastor Kevin Spencer officiating. Cremation will follow the service at our on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
