Obituary of Cynthia Jeanne Gose
Cynthia Jeanne Rathbone was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 3, 1957. She was one of two children, the daughter born of the union of Roy Rathbone and Joanne (Markgraff) Rathbone Barbosa. Cindy grew up in Dundee, Michigan, graduating from Dundee High School with the class of 1976. She had a lifelong fascination with automobiles and in the Spring of 1977, her eyes met those of a young man driving a Hot Rod. That beau, James Clayton Gose became her husband on April 7, 1979 in Monroe.
Cindy and Jim were blessed with two children: James and Jennifer, and she cared for the needs of her family tirelessly. It was stated that she was the glue that brought and kept them together. Cindy was an amazing cook and hostess. She loved the holidays with Christmas being her favorite and enjoyed spoiling everyone and decorating her home.
While balancing the needs of her family, Cindy, was a professional, career woman as well. She continued her education at Siena Heights University where she studied art as her major. She was employed at Michigan Gas Utilities for ten years before working in collections for several local banks. Cindy worked hard and was proud to earn her Michigan Certified Assessing Officer Designation. For more than a dozen years she was employed in Residential Tax Assessment for Frenchtown and LaSalle Townships.
Cindy was a very private person. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in this life, although she was quite fond of her Cocker Spaniels. An avid baseball fan, she loved to attend Detroit Tiger games. She enjoyed travel, whether taking trips to the river to enjoy the serenity of the water or the majesty of the eagles flying overhead or visits to Florida and the ocean, all of which were her happy places. She was also a music afficionado, with 80’s music being her favorite genre. She especially enjoyed the likes of Tesla and Def Leppard to name a few having met both bands.
