Susan Arlene Miller was born on April 25, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan. She was one of four children born to the union of Edward and Carole (Kemppanien) Miller.  Susan attended Dondero High School in Royal Oak, Michigan, graduating with the class of 1978.

For many years, Susan made her home in Luna Pier, Michigan.   She was employed as a server for the Ganders Restaurant in Luna Pier, Michigan.   Living near Lake Erie afforded Susan the opportunity to fish often.   She didn’t care what was biting but more so appreciated the solitude that came from being by the water.  

Susan also loved traveling to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan where she spent time at her grandparents’ cabin in Hancock, Michigan.   Visiting the Holiday Ranch for horseback riding or skiing the slopes at Pine Knob Ski Resort in Clarkston, Michigan.   Susan was a very talented dancer.   She spent countless hours showing off her skills on the dance floors at her two favorite clubs:  Machine Gun Kelly’s and Mr. Christians both in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Susan Arlene Miller, age 62, passed away on Wednesday; December 21, 2022 at the Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, Ohio. Her passing was preceded by her parents:  Edward and Carole Miller and a nephew:  Douglas Joseph Edward Schuetzler.

To cherish her memory Susan leaves her loving Sister:  Sharon (Mark Briddick) Schuetzler of Frost, Texas; two brothers:  Thomas (Joyce) Miller of Hancock, Michigan and Kenneth (Jodi) Miller of Houghton, Michigan; one brother in law; Douglas Louis Schuetzler; four nephews:  Adam Miller, Nick Miller, Alex Miller, and Ryan Miller; and one niece:  Annie Miller.

No public services are planned at this time. Susan’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. Cremation has taken place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation in Erie, Michigan.
