Obituary of Randoll Courts

Please share a memory of Randoll to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Randoll Courts was born on March 16, 1953, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of two children, born from the union of Ray and Opal (Johnson) Courts. Randoll attended and graduated from Jefferson High School with the class of 1971. After commencements, Randoll enlisted in the United States Army and served in the capacity of the intelligence division. He later would attend trade school to get his certification in Heating and Cooling technologies.  This would prove to be extremely valuable as he would later partner with his sister, Connie, to purchase and manage their own Heating and Cooling business.

As an avid fan of Rawhide and police type shows, Randoll would never miss an opportunity to watch his favorite broadcasts on television. In fact, he tuned in four times each day to watch Perry Mason, with one episode always being broadcast in black and white. Randoll also enjoyed a good novel.   Mystery books were by far his favorite and he especially enjoyed his favorite author: James Patterson.

Randoll loved being outdoors. Most of all he cherished camping trips in the Upper Peninsula at Garnett Lake with family and friends.   He also loved fishing in his backyard oasis, a pond behind his home on Stumpmeier Road, so he could drop a line and catch whatever was biting that day.

Randoll Courts, age 69, of Monroe passed away peacefully at the Alice Lorraine Care Center in Monroe, on Wednesday; December 21, 2022. His passing was preceded by his parents.

To cherish his memory, he leaves three sons: Andrew, Richard (Tamara) Courts, and Benjamin (Theresa) Courts; one sister: Connie Simonelli-Webb; and seven grandchildren: Anthony, Jasmine, Alex, Giselle, Joel, Isaiah, and Scarlett.

Friends may gather on Friday; January 13, 2023, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 4:00pm also at Merkle’s.
