D.L. as some called him.but I always knew him as Dave. He was a very generous man laced with kindness. I met him 20 years ago when I started going to Petersburg Lower Light Church. He and David Voss was overseeing the basement project on the Church. After the project was done he suggested that since I was having trouble finding work, that maybe I should work for myself as a handyman. I followed thru and became a licensed builder and I started working for single women, handi-capped people widows and retirees, all of which was Dave's idea. I continues working and did many projects for Dave and also the Church. He was a mentor, friend, and felt like a father figure to me. He was a great man who will be sadly missed by his Wife Grace, his Daughters Fran and Faith, family and friends galore. I am now retired but my times I had with Dave will be treasured moments in my life. Rest in peace to a God loving man of great stature. He is Jesus's companion now along with others who lead the way to Heavens Gate. Thank you kind sir for all you have given me in the ways of Christ and life. You will be missed.

Bro Linville was a great man of God. Always showing others and myself the glory of God's word. He was always helping others, and lending an ear to listen and give his wonderful wisdom to me and others. At camp meeting you could always find Bro Linville behind the camera or the pulpit to open up camp. I have had the privilege to be able to listen to a sermon or two.
