Obituary of Kory Lee Goss
Kory Lee Goss was born on November 30, 1962 in Trenton, Michigan. He was the son of Nuel Edward Goss and Loreida Ersie (Lawson) Goss. He graduated from Monroe High School and continued his studies at Monroe County Community College where he studied auto mechanics.
He married the former, Tammie Marie Goble on October 18, 1997. Kory was a hard worker, never afraid to get his hands dirty. For more than twenty-five years, he worked construction was through the Carpenters Local 687 before his retirement in 2017. As a carpenter he was proud to help “build Monroe”, from Cobo Hall, to working on Fermi, the credit union, Rite Aid, The Frenchtown Square Mall, and even Cabela’s in Dundee.
Kory was extremely generous. He was always willing to give of himself to others. He knew no limits even to the point of being taken advantage of often, Kory never said no. Kory loved to spend time on the open road and his favorite mode of travel was by motorcycle. Often, he could be seen on his travels with his pooch, Louis riding with him. Kory enjoyed being outside working in the yard or spending time, in a blind bow hunting. He helped the neighbor kids by providing or repairing a bike or pumping up a tire.
Even after retirement he used his skills helping the United Way through Project Ramp. Kory donated to Children with Hair Loss in Rockwood on more than one occasion. Being an avid NASCAR and Tony Stewart fan, he kept the home decorated in orange for quite some time.
