Obituary of Leilani Aysun Aurora Libstorff

Please share a memory of Leilani to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Leilani Aysun Aurora Libstorff was born on November 29, 2022, in Monroe, Michigan to Sunshine Libstorff. Each part of her carefully chosen name has special significance. Leilani means “royal child of heaven”, Aysun “beautiful as the moon”, and Aurora “goddess of the sunrise whose tears turned into the morning dew”. Aurora was also chosen, as it is the name of the classic Disney princess, Sleeping Beauty. In utero, Leilani was a very active baby and gave her mother continuous kicks. She seemed to have both sweet and savory tastes as her mother craved ice cream and pancakes but also cheese and Chinese cuisine. It was love at first sight for Leilani’s family upon her arrival. She was born with the longest fingers, a “Libstorff” nose, and the darkest hair and eyebrows.

Leilani Aysun Aurora Libstorff, beloved baby girl, was born sleeping on Tuesday; November 29, 2022. Although she could not join us here on Earth, she will live on in Heaven and in the hearts of all those that loved her. Her passing was preceded by her great grandmothers: Betty Lucille Miller and Donna Marie Libstorff; and great grandfather: Charlie McCollum.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother: Sunshine Libstorff; grandparents: Megan (Jerry) Ray and Wayne (Rhonda) Libstorff Jr.; great grandfather: Wayne Libstorff Sr; and aunts and uncles: Wayne Libstorff III, Clayton Libstorff, Mia Jolie Gibson, Beau Childress, Dustin (Blaire) Brewer, and Char (Mike) Shoner.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 11:00am at Grace Lutheran Church; 630 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162.
