Obituary of Sharon Kay Mazur

Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sharon Kay Bailey was born on August 31, 1942 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of three beautiful children born to the union of Bert and Ethel (Pillette) Bailey.  She attended Monroe High School, graduating with the Class of 1960.

On March 3, 1967 in Monroe, Michigan Sharon married the love of her life:  Larry Mazur.   The couple was blessed with three sons.   For more than twenty years, Sharon worked behind the deli counter at the Monroe Meijer store retiring in 2006.

Sharon loved playing board games with some of her favorites being “Shut the Box”, “Yahtzee” and “Uno”.   She was also known to catch bingo games from time to time.   Sharon was a movie buff and enjoyed all types of movies but was quite fond of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series.  She loved following the life and times of Hollywood actors and actresses, so she never missed watching the Grammys or the Oscars.   Sharon kept herself very busy but always found time to watch fireworks or go for a drive looking for Christmas lights.   She hardly ever missed the Ida Christmas parade.   Sharon’s true passion in life, however, was spending time with her family and grandchildren, making sure the holidays were a special time for everyone.

Sharon Kay Mazur, age 80, passed away on Thursday; November 24, 2022 at the ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital in Monroe, Michigan.  Her passing was preceded by her husband of forty years:  Larry Mazur on May 27, 2016, her parents:  Bert and Ethel Bailey; two brothers:  Clayton and Jerry Bailey; a sister-in-law:  Joanne Bailey; four brothers-in-laws:  John Mazur, Lloyd Wood, Rick Tuller, and Ronny Mazur; her grandson:  Mike Murphy.

To cherish her memory Sharon leaves three sons:  Randy (Suzanne) Mazur of Monroe; Richard (Christine) Mazur of Carleton, and Larry (Renee) Mazur of Brownstown; nine grandchildren:  Joe (Leah) Condon, Tully Murphy, Tom Condon, Jonathon Mazur, Nicholas Mazur, Victoria Mazur, Dane Mazur, Drew Mazur, and Dylan Mazur; and three great grandchildren; Jack, Gabe, and Juniper.
