Obituary of Lorene Austin
Lorene Gregory was born in Orlando, Kentucky on October 6, 1947. She was one of nine children born from the union of Burton Gregory and Rose (Allen) Gregory. Lorene married Newell “George” Austin on February 5, 1966. The couple would make their way North from Kentucky making their home in Toledo.
Lorene and George were blessed with the birth of two children. In addition to caring for the needs of her family as a homemaker, Lorene worked several jobs including Chariot Foods and Manager of Queens Village Laundromat. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Cruising the countryside, motorcycling with George was a favorite pastime. The family also loved camping together. Throughout the years many trips were made to Kentucky to visit kin. Lorene was also quite close to her sister and brother-in-law: Betty and Carl Liesinger. Lorene loved to listen to the likes of Elvis Presley. For many years she enjoyed collecting knick-knacks, but as she got older, she realized they quickly became items to be dusted!
