Obituary of Eloisa Perez Brockman
Eloisa Perez was born on February 20, 1951 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of five children born to Jesus and Refugio (Origel) Perez. Eloisa was a 1969 graduate of Milan High School in Milan, Michigan.
Eloisa was employed by Milan Public Schools as a bus driver for thirty-two years retiring in 2011. Her service extended to special education and vocational school students, and many times escorted students on field trips. She was quite the skilled operator earning a First Place at the School Bus Rodeo several times. Eloisa was proud to have personally driven almost all her grandchildren to school. For many years she also bartended at the American Legion and Old Shack Bar in Milan.
A devout Catholic, Eloisa had been a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Milan since its inception. In addition to attending Mass and other parish events, she taught Sunday School, regularly participated in Bible Study, and was always the first to volunteer to lead the recitation of the Rosary. Eloisa also belonged to Catholic Women’s Circle and studied to become a Third Order Carmelite. Sharing her faith was of the utmost importance to her and she ensured that each of her grandchildren received the sacraments.
Eloisa frequently completed crossword puzzles and played games on her phone and tablet. A talented crafter, she painted, crochet, and knitted. She found great joy in dancing and sharing her beautiful singing voice.
Eloisa prided herself on keeping up with current events. A news “junkie”, she often had CNN on the television in the background and tuned into Channel 7 Action News Detroit every morning, afternoon, and evening. Eloisa also enjoyed watching “Criminal Minds” and soap operas including “General Hospital”.
