Dennis William Reiser
July 7, 1941 - August 11, 2014
Dennis William Reiser was born on July 7, 1941 in Carleton, Michigan. He was one of seven children born to the union of the late Derwood Reiser and the late Leone (Mieden) Reiser. Dennis was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Waltz- New Boston and graduated from Airport High School in 1959.
Dennis started working at C.H. Reiser and Sons right out of high school for over 40 years, handling accounts as the treasurer. He went on to work at Meijer for 15 years stocking shelves until retiring in 2011.
Dennis loved his children, and traveling with them. He traveled to many places including his annual trips to North Carolina, Mackinaw Island, and his favored Black Lake. Dennis always enjoyed daschunds, boating, fishing and riding his John Deere Tractor. Following retirement, Dennis was content to put his feet up on his favorite La-Z-Boy recliner, and going to Detroit Tigers games with his daughter. Most recently, Dennis enjoyed watching Duck Dynasty, Walker Texas Ranger and old war movies. He was caring and generous to his family. He especially liked to help various organizations.
Dennis William Reiser, age 73 of Monroe passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by his son: Dustin Reiser; and a brother: James Reiser
To cherish his memory Dennis leaves one daughter: Sandra Reiser of Menasha, Wisconsin; a son: William Reiser of Monroe; two sisters: Marian Durrant of Toledo, Ohio, Barbara Masserant of Northwood, Ohio; three brothers: John (Pricilla) Reiser of Carleton, Gerald (Shirley) Reiser of Flat Rock, North Carolina and David (Phyllis) Reiser of East Flat Rock, North Carolina; and a sister-in-law: Patricia (Paul) Greer of Flat Rock, Michigan.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, North, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. Dennis will Lie in State at 10:00am until a Celebration of His Life at 11:00am on Monday, August 18, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waltz-New Boston with Pastor Kurt Taylor officiating. Cremation will then follow through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan.
