Obituary of Jamie West
Please share a memory of Jamie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jamie Rachelle West was born in Toledo on July 12, 1987. The second youngest of four beautiful daughters she was born from the union of Mark and Brenda (Thompson) West. Jamie attended Monroe High School with the Class of 2005. An excellent athlete, she lettered on the softball team, and after school had enjoyed rec league play with her sisters.
Jamie enjoyed working with people and had served at local restaurants including Mugsy's and Happy's Pizza.
More than anything, Jamie was known for her wonderful smile and her love for family and friends. Laughter was a big part of the West Family, and Jamie enjoyed dishing out ribbing from time to time, but she didn't take well to teasing herself, often telling her hecklers, "No, Wait, Shut-up" with her familiar tone and nose curl.
Jamie cherished all children. She enjoyed spoiling the nieces and nephews, and by far she was the favorite aunt. She also became the surrogate aunt to the children of her friends. Jamie was generous; sharing whatever she had with others, and bringing home broken people, knowing that her family could fix them. She was loyal to a fault even when those around her didn't deserve it. Jamie was a fearless defender of those she loved, she was tough often besting the boys in arm wrestling contests, and she was sure to be the last one standing in a fight.
Jamie age 26 of Monroe passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Her passing was preceded by her maternal grandfather: Kenneth Thompson; cousin: Nichole Baer; uncle: Richard Goetz; and her boyfriend: Sgt. Michael K. "Mikie" Ingram Jr. K.I.A.
To cherish her memory she leaves parents: Mark and Brenda West; maternal grandmother: Geraldine Thompson; paternal grandparents: Lloyd and Frances West; three sisters: Jodi (Eric) Pillette, Jennifer (John) Snavely, and Jenna West; nine nieces and nephews: Caden, Averie, Teagen, and Jaxon Pillette, Jonus, Keoni, and Jazlyn Snavely, Naamah Mills, and Kaiya West; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
